Thanks for letting me know what you found out. It took us a few minutes to figure out that the hawk had a snake, too. But it was clearly showing the snake off to all the hikers who were out and about that day!<br /><br />Hi Madi -- that beak does look like it could do some damage, doesn't it? Very sharp and long. I had a look on the internet and there do seem to be at least two varieties of Opuntia which are that lavender colour.<br /><br />Lovely photos of the birds. At first I thought the hawk had a strange long tail until I realised it was a snake.
