Sunny thoughts on a Dreary Day

It has been a very cool, wet, dreary, and just generally miserable day. To remind myself that the best of summer in MN is yet to come, I revisited some photos I took of our summer garden last July. The 3 wild turkey hens were visiting with their shared broods of 11 chicks, butterflies were swarming the aesclepias, insects were everywhere, and the Jack-in-the-Pulpit had gone to seed. Below are a couple of my favorites and here is a link to the album on Picasa: http://picasaweb.google.com/lulalaney/MNWildlife#

  1. Hi Wilma.
I have just logged on to see that you are now following my blog so I am doing the same with yours. I will read your blog later.
Can you please tell me how you found me, mind you I am not complaining, having such a pretty blogger following me is a lovely thing.
I look forward to reading your future blogs.

  2. Ken,

thanks for posting your comment. In answer to your question, I came across your blog from Jr and Sue's blog. They also follow you. I had been exploring other bloggers who list "natural history" as an interest and came across a wealth of bloggers, mostly in the UK, who post lovely photographs and write such interesting blogs about natural history and birding. I follow the ones I like the best to get ideas for photography and writing. When my husband and I retire to Belize in a few years, one of my goals is to blog and have a website devoted to the natural history of our area of Belize. In the meantime I intend to hone my blogging and natural history skills!

    cheers,
    Wilma
